How long have you been in the painting business?
- 20 years. I began painting for a former coach, who has run a successful painting business since the late 70's, when I was on summer break from college in 2003. I continued doing that until 2018 when I began Molinelli Painting.
What brands of paint do you use?
- I prefer using top-quality Sherwin Williams or Benjamin Moore paints. However, we will work with you to choose the best product for your job.
Is there a difference between the $55/gallon paints and the $25/gallon paints?
- YES!!!! There is a HUGE difference between them. There are specific reasons for this but the detailed answer includes words like pigments, resin, and solvents. Simple answer: cheap paints don't cover as well, fade sooner, and don't hold up well to wear and tear over time. The more expensive paints are much more durable, cover much better, and are easier to clean. Truth is, you get what you pay for and when it comes to your home, the investment is well worth it.
How long will it take to complete my project?
- There is no 'cookie-cutter' answer to this question. Each project is unique and because of this, timelines vary. Walls, ceilings, trim, stairwells, cathedral ceilings, and other variables all play roles into the length of time a job will take. The most important step in painting, which most homeowners don't realize, is the preparation process. Proper surface prep is the most critical and time consuming stage in the painting process. Often, half of the project time, if not more, is spent on patching, spackling, caulking, sanding, priming, and more to ensure quality paint adhesion. I always provide customers with a time table regarding a project start date, as well as an estimated time of completion prior to the signing of any contract.
